GRU is a progressive jazz metal project from Wybierz, Poland. The project started in 2009. The sole member of the project is Piotrek GRUSZKA. He plays a more jazz-based style of djent that differs from much of the modern djent scene. He released his debut full length album, Cosmogensis, in 2010. Gru is heavily influenced by artists such as Fredrik THORDENDAL, Allan HOLDSWORTH, TOOL, DREAM THEATER, CYNIC, and other progressive metal artists. See for more.
